From time to time my iPhone connected WiFi jumps from 5Ghz to the 2.4Ghz.

I have two separate SSID for both and different password for both yet it switches on it's own.

Using RTAC86U w/ Merlins FW.

Is there a way to stop this from happening?

Thanks

'Forget' the 2.4GHz band's SSID on the phone. ;)

Also, there may be controls to set on the wireless client to prefer the preferred connection... likely the 5.0 band.

Stop and think about why it's jumping - likely because the 5GHz radio is at the point where 2.4GHz is a better choice.

iOS is pretty good about this kind of stuff...

My iOS devices usually opt for 2.4ghz even if 5ghz is strong.

@Poseidon Instead of forgetting the 2.4 network i found it better to just disable auto-join for the 2.4 network and enable auto join only for the 5ghz network. The auto join option is just beneath forget network. Your iPhone will stick to using 5ghz.
