Can it be switched of in syslog? Or is it possible to fix it?

The instant guard is a new one click VPN app. The iOS and Android IPSec VPN setting is too difficult, and we develop a app two help set the IPSec VPN server at router and IPSec client at the phone.
I will release the ios beta app later.
Thanks for reply much appreciated. Keep the good work too date going....

I have the same bug. If I enable Ethernet Backhaul mode I lose all nodes connected to LAN network. With this option disabled so far everything works great and nodes still are connected by LAN.

What is the difference between "Ethernet Backhaul Mode"(System settings) and "connestion type wired"(Uplink Type: Ethernet).

The difference between "Ethernet Backhaul Mode"(System settings) and "connection type wired"(Uplink Type: Ethernet).
Please refer to https://www.asus.com/support/FAQ/1044184
When setting the connecting priority to ethernet first, the system will reserve the wireless backup to handle the network cable broken case.
If enable the Ethernet backhaul mode, there is no wireless backup.

Do all nodes connect to router with network cable?

Can it be switched of in syslog? Or is it possible to fix it?

Please use the feedback form in web GUI to send the debug information to us and tell me your feedback email with a private message.

@ASUSWRT_2020

At this stage I just want to say thank you to ASUS for giving us this ability, with an early look and play, associated with the new AiMesh2, to aid in its development and the eventual new 386 branch of firmware.

Well done.

@ASUSWRT_2020 There are some cosmetic UI glitches in this firmware. I tried using Firefox and Edge Chromium. I use 4K monitor with 200% scaling.

See my posts #920 and 921, there are indeed....

@ASUSWRT_2020

Another small problem, using the new internet speed tab from Adaptive QoS and then selecting the drop down list for servers, the listing is all jumbled (messed up), see screen shot. Have tried in Chrome, Edge and Firefox, same result.

Maybe a length of display problem from within the drop down list?

Mine is displaying correctly. Might be a problem with your browser settings.

Thanks for reply. Across 3 different browsers, I don't think so.

See post #947 also reporting same problem.

I am convinced its a display length problem according to server name length, i.e. insufficient character length in some cases for server names and or insufficient character width maybe of the drop down panel.

Anyways over to @ASUSWRT_2020 for investigation.

Yes, all nodes are connected to switch with network cable. With disable "Ethernet Backhaul Mode" my network looks:

After enabling "Ethernet Backhaul Mode" I lose Aimesh 2.0 routers:
2.png

but if I unplug from AC86U (node) ethernet cable, after few second Ac68u node is online. Then I can plug in ethernet cable to this AC86U again and all is working correctly.
If I reboot AC86U(node) again both nodes ac86u and ac68u are offline, until I unplug EThernet cable from AC86u wait few seconds until ac68u is online and the plug ethernet cable back to ac86u.

Going through a switch update with R6.

Getting better, I can now connect via Ethernet to all nodes with AiMesh wired backhaul though a switch but as soon as I turn on 'Ethernet Backhaul mode' I lose nodes that go via the switch, its like only one node at a time can go via a switch.
Hi livefeed
Had the same problem, as well under RC2-4. When you when you set Ethernet only per node, clients can only establish a connection over the main e.g. internal WLAN on nodes with Backhaul over a switch. Guest cannot get a connection on nodes with Backhaul over a switch.

I have seen as well, that I lose the note when enabling Ethernet Backhaul Mode within the System Settings. Since one WiFi Band is still reserved when you set Ethernet only per node it seems that there might be still some communication over WLAN, even the node reports uplink Type Ethernet.

This all looks promising, I just wish there was an option to allow devices on the Guest network to communicate with each other.

I have the same issue when I change over to "Ethernet backhaul Mode" all nodes dissapear although they are all connected through a switch via ethernet and are shown as well as Uplink type Ethernet in the AI MEsh 2.0 overview before changint to the "Ethernet BAckhaul Mode". When I use the LN port int he MEsh Router the Nodes are again online.

When I try to setup a upnp server on the node the attached usb stick won't show up but when I setup Samba it does.

It's been 24 hours, the FW is performing well for me.

After the update, the wireless mesh signal at the same location becomes worse.

I initially experienced a never before seen weak remote node signal that stopped my first attempt to add the node from the old Network Map interface.

I rebooted and power-cycled the router, never touched the remote node at 77', and was then able to add the node normally.

I was installing fast... getting good at it by now... so maybe the router needed more time to settle. Or maybe it needed the reboot.

Let us know if your issue passes in time.

Gotten a few not mesh client cannot update its ip from an apple watch that has had Privacy Mode turned off in the past... (Privacy Mode... Apple devices are trying to play the pseudorandom MAC address game)....

So far so good..

Channer,

Currently Guest WiFi Summary Page only shows the following

Guest Network -> 5GHz Band
  • Network Name (SSID)
  • Authentication Method
  • Network Key
  • Time Remaining
  • Access Intranet
Can you consider to include:
  • Sync to AiMesh Node
Thanks you.
Channer,

I think I caught a rare bug that occurs sometimes on the Router Login Screen. Let me try to describe it.
  • Login Screen appeared with Focus set in admin ID field
  • In the admin ID field -> I Enter my admin ID
  • I Tab to Change Focus to Password field
  • Part way through entering my very long password with 16 (Character & Numberic & Punctuation) the Focus moved back to admin ID field, entering the rest of my password appended to my admin ID.
My observation
  • This happened to me mostly when I login to my router remotely via OpenVPN over slower 4G Cellular connection
  • See First Screen shot with plain background ... this is when I enter admin ID, enter Password part way
  • When the background got refreshed with blurred Router Home Page background (2nd screen shot) where Input field Focus got changed from password field to admin ID field
