For some reason when I try to upgrade the Asus RT-AC3100 from merlin stable 386.4 to 386.5 it fails with a message stating that the firmware is not compatible because they(Asus) modified the certification rule. Anyone else experiencing this issue?

Remove any USB drives 'safely' if you have any.

Physically remove those drives.

Reboot the computer, wait for 5 to 10 minutes for the router to settle. Then, try flashing it again.

After the flash is successful, insert the USB drives and reboot once more.
