I currently have an Asus RT-68R connected to my FiOS router in AP mode. I also have an old Linksys E4200 running DD-WRT in repeater-bridge mode to extend my 5G radio. I use a single SSID for both wifi bands and I want to continue to do that going forward.

I have been looking at different dual band extenders and can't be sure the will support a single SSID. Can anyone give me some suggestions? I prefer the wall plugin but even a desktop extender will do.

The Linksys "crossband" technology should handle single SSID.

I did try the TP-Link RE350K today was was not impressed with coverage of the 5G or 2.4G - setup was fairly easy and placing it about midway between RT-68U and clients in family room I got decent 5G speeds on my AC clients. Then I moved to the outside porch about 10 feet from the extender and lost 5G. And my iPhone didn't connect to the extender 2.4G band, just the Asus on the 2nd floor.
