For the people trying LetsEncrypt, please remember you have NO NEED for a certificate if you don't plan to use HTTPS access to the router. Make sure you have access to the webui set to as BOTH on the Administration>System bottom of page.
skeal,
Thanks.
PS: Seems like for RT-AX88U ... ASUS finally fix it in their latest stock FW RT-AX88U_3.0.0.4_384_7968

MDM,
How do you do that? Thanks.
Simple: WAN/DDNS/Generate a new certificate/Yes/Apply. And then reboot.

But HTTPS is more secure so that is why it should be used instead of HTTP, that is the only way I access my router (am a bit parano... :D).

I believe @RMerlin said once that, a home user has no requirement for HTTPS access. It's an unneeded extra complexity for a home user. ;)

I'm on a Mac and the only browser I can access the router with after a factory default reset (HTTP) is Firefox. Nor Safari or Chrome can access the WebUI unless the router is set up with HTTPS. It's one of the first changes to the setting I make after a factory default reset.

I am also a mac user and i can use http just fine and i pretty much only use Safari. Are you sure you haven't loaded some extension into Safari that forces everything to https?

Nobody ever wants to hear this bug it works just fine here.

Thanks for fixing the self compiling git. I got it to finish compiling like it should today. Appreciate it.

True, but no harm for those who want extra safety and know what they are doing.
If you access your router only via cable, sure there ins no great need for it, but via WiFi...

No, I don't use any extensions. And It's not recent ether. This is the first time I brought it up, since the Firefox workaround gives me access, albeit being annoying. Interesting to hear that you are unaffected by this issue.

Hello,

I'm having issues with this alpha version.
The network connection drops like every 30 seconds or so on wifi.
The cabled network works fine.
I am also getting a lot of the errors shown below.

2.4GHz is the slowest one.
Sometimes, it refuses to be connected.

It also happens, even if i use the smart connect.

Network speed we pay for is 500 v 500.
And wifi gives around 20 v 20, with this version.
Cabled gives around 200 v 200.

We have around 5 - 15 devices on the internet at all times.

Yes, i do use let's encrypt, openvpn and cloudflare 1.1.1.1 WAN. (Didn't use DNS under lan, because it slowed really down.)

The Processor cores, spike to 100% too often.

Speedtest on Samsung S8 mobile:
Main router ac88u alpha - max 2 Mbs down and 10 down 202 jitter and 7ms ping (5G)
Main Router Guest 2.4Ghz - Max 1.11Mbs down and 6.95 up 320 jitter and 6ms ping
Router 2 ac66u - 94Mbs down and 123 up 1 jitter and 6 ping.

So far, i would recommend waiting, until 384.15 is actually out.
As it got bugs right now.
If you got issues with 384.14, i recommend downgrading to 384.13 or lower until 384.15 is out, so you can see if everything works as it should when it gets out.

WOW - maybe I should take this step too an upgrade to 384.15 given the current hassle with 384.14 .... :)

I have a rt-ax88u and in the log apear this:
kernel: CFG80211-ERROR) wl_cfg80211_change_station : WLC_SCB_AUTHORIZE sta_flags_mask not set

Despite this, everything apparently works smoothly
